- Blogging: Create blogs on free sites like blogger. Post some blogs on your subject with few backlinks to your website. Now get some backlinks for your blogs.
- Bookmarking: Bookmarking is very popular to get backlink as well as traffic. Sites like Digg or StumbleUpon may send you tons of traffic if you have a high quality web page. Using appropriate tags and keyword rich titles and descriptions is the key for success with bookmarking.
- Directory submission: Submission on free web directories is a classified methods of getting one-way backlinks. This method is only suitable for home page. For inner pages this method is not suitable as very few directories allows to submit inner pages.
- Press release submission: write good PR about your website and services and distribute those on free press release sites.
- Article submission: Write some keyword rich articles and submit each article on a separate free article directory.
- Forum posting: Post comments on relevant forums with link to your website in signature or directly in the post, if allowed.
- Blog comment posting: post some comments on some relevant blogs. Don't post spam comments on irrelevant blogs.

I am involved in so many things online. I joined over 30 sites to promote the links to the sites I created.
